At the beginning of 2025, we set a goal of licensing 8 families for children aged 5 and older with our High Five for ’25 campaign. We responded to 67 inquiries for more information about our program throughout 2025, and our amazing staff worked tirelessly to license a total of 19 families.
Thanks to the dedication of our staff, community partners, and incredible foster parents, we not only met this goal – we exceeded it! In 2025, nine new foster families completed the licensing process and opened their homes to older children in foster care. Thank you, Medina County!
This success is worth celebrating. Each newly licensed family represents safety, stability, and hope for children entering the foster care system in Medina County. Having a consistent, nurturing home can make a life-changing difference for a child.
As excited as we are about these newly licensed homes, the unfortunate truth persists:
The need for foster homes remains urgent.
So we will continue our hard work in 2026. We remain committed to recruiting, training, and supporting foster families – especially those willing to care for older youth.
To our newly licensed families: thank you for saying yes.
To our current foster families: thank you for continuing to provide loving homes for kids throughout 2025.
To our community partners and supporters: thank you for joining us in this mission to provide safe, stable homes for children in need.
And to those who may be considering fostering: you are needed, and you are not alone in this journey!
If you are interested in learning more about becoming a foster parent, we would love to connect with you. Maybe fostering is right for you, maybe it isn’t. Will you at least commit to learning a little more this year?
The need is great, but the difference you’ll make is even greater!
