May was National Foster Care Month, and we’ve worked hard to raise awareness, share stories, and spotlight the needs of kids and families in the foster care system. We’ve talked about foster parents and biological families. Reunification and trauma. Our community, myths, and more. But now that it’s June, the attention tends to fade.
But guess what?
Kids didn’t stop entering foster care on June 1st.
Foster parents didn’t stop needing support.
Families didn’t stop hoping for reunification.
Foster care isn’t a May-only issue. It’s a year-round reality. It’s not a trend. It’s life. For thousands of kids and families. Every single day.
Here’s why foster care still matters in June… and July… and always.
Kids don’t choose when they need help.
Foster parents need support every month.
Reunification is a long journey.
Every child deserves to be seen – always.
So let’s not let our compassion expire with the calendar. Let’s make a commitment to keep showing up every day and every month for kids who need caring adults to make a difference.
May is over, but the need is still real. And so is the impact you can make.
