Foster Parent Banquet

We hosted our annual Foster Parent Banquet on Thursday, May 15th at Williams on the Lake in Medina. We love to take this opportunity during National Foster Care Month to recognize and appreciate our foster parents for opening their hearts and homes to children in need. Their compassion, strength, and dedication make a lasting difference every day and we truly appreciate all that they do!

After a lovely dinner, we had a blast handing out some fun awards, then enjoyed spoiling our foster parents and staff with some gift baskets donated by our generous community. Some of our awards included:

• Say Yes Award to a family who almost always responds "yes" to placement requests
• Stretch Award to a family who wanted to work with younger children but stepped up to take placement of an older teen when there was a need
• Instant Family Award to a family who became first time parents immediately after becoming licensed and then moved quickly into adoption
• Respite Queen to a foster mom who has been so willing to help other families out with respite requests
• Medic Awards to two families who have faced some serious medical challenges with children placed in their homes and have stepped up to meet every challenge and every need
• Family to Family Award to a foster mom who has worked tirelessly to create and host events to keep siblings placed in different homes connected
• No Vacancy Award to a family who continues to make room for kids, even with a continually growing family

We had so much fun, we forgot to take pictures throughout the evening! Thankfully we got a few before the evening started and grabbed a picture of (most of) our team at the end of the evening.
