Former Foster Youth

May is National Foster Care Month, and we are writing on various topics related to foster care throughout the month. We hope these blogs will help you understand the world of foster care a little better, dispel some myths, and maybe even inspire you to consider whether you could take that next step to become a licensed foster parent.

Our foster care topic for today is former foster youth, so we thought it would be the perfect time to share about one of our own kids. Mariana was in our care for 1120 days. We worked with NOAS (Northeast Ohio Adoption Services) to help find Mariana’s forever family. Her adoption was finalized on 4/8/22 at age 15. Check out this slideshow from her adoption day.

We love to hear these stories of youth who have been connected with a permanent home and family. We wish Mariana and all of our other former foster youth the best in their futures.
