Family and Children Services (FCS)

Family and Children Services (FCS) handles abuse and neglect cases of children and the elderly.  When FCS receives information on a case, the staff examines it carefully to determine the best solution.  The main goal of FCS is to help each family solve their own problems.  The goal is to keep the family together and help them create a safe, loving environment.

Sometimes after examining a case, FCS will determine that outside help is needed and will ask the Juvenile Court for permission to step in and intervene.  In some cases, taking the children or elderly out of the home and placing them in a new one is the only SAFE alternative.
