Family MedicaidFamily Medicaid is a federal and state funded program for families, children and pregnant women who meet eligibility criteria. There are two main categories which have different income limits: Healthy Start and Healthy Families. Coverage includes: doctor visits, hospital care, prescriptions, immunizations, prenatal care, vision, dental, substance abuse and mental health services. These programs DO NOT REQUIRE A FACE TO FACE INTERVIEW. Healthy StartHealthy Start is for eligible children and pregnant women. Children can be covered from birth to age 19 and pregnant women can be covered up to 60 days after the birth of the baby. Families with private health insurance may still be eligible and families with a higher income may pay a premium for Medicaid coverage. Expedited MedicaidExpedited Medicaid provides coverage for pregnant women for 60 days but will not cover hospitalization.. Only verification of pregnancy and a statement of income is required. All verifications will be needed to extend medical coverage for the full term of pregnancy, the birth of the child and 60 days post partum. Healthy FamiliesHealthy Families Medicaid provides assistance for low-income families. This category of assistance covers children and their parent(s) or caretaker and has a lower income limit than Healthy Start. Application Requirements
